Are you behind on property taxes and at risk of tax sale? The Pro Bono Resource Center (PBRC) is here to help.

Join the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland (PBRC) on Saturday, March 22nd, from 10 AM to 2 PM, for a Tax Sale Assistance Clinic in Baltimore City. This free clinic is designed to provide homeowners with personalized, one-on-one support to prevent tax sale and stabilize their housing situation.

PBRC is proud to collaborate with partners including the Stop Oppressive Seizures (SOS) Fund, Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS), Druid Heights Community Development Corporation, Southeast CDC, and the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) to deliver comprehensive housing stabilization services.

Baltimore City homeowners with delinquent property taxes or related housing challenges who need support to avoid tax sale.

What to Expect:

• Legal Consultations:

Meet with experienced attorneys to review your situation, identify legal issues, and receive a personalized roadmap with concrete steps to resolve them.

• Housing & Financial Counseling:

Work with housing counselors and foreclosure attorneys to explore resources like mortgage assistance, budgeting support, and strategies to pay off your tax bill.

• Assistance with Applications:

Access and complete applications for state and local tax credits, financial aid programs, and water assistance programs.

• Direct Financial Help:

The SOS Fund will evaluate cases for potential direct cash payments to reduce tax burdens.

• Heir Property and Title Assistance:

Receive help obtaining proper title to your home if you’re an heir property homeowner.

• On-Site State Support:

SDAT staff will assist with applications for property credit programs and state loan programs to pay off delinquent taxes.
