It’s that time of year again. Time to register for MICHIGAN CARES FOR TOURISM!Our next volunteer experience will be held at Tawas Point State Park in East Tawas September 14-15, along the beautiful shores of Lake Huron.
SEPT. 14 - SUNDAY FUNDAY
On Sunday, we'll have a group tour and activity followed by a fun networking reception.
1-4:30 p.m. – Options include kayaking the Au Sable River, a bird watching walk, plein air painting, and an eBike ride along the Tawas Bay bike path, as well as exploring the downtown area including visiting the Iosco County Historical Museum. A follow up email will be sent to registrants to sign up for their preferred activity.
5:30 p.m. - Group reception at Harbor Park in East Tawas (adjacent to the Tawas Bay Beach Resort). Join us for heavy hors d’oeuvres, friendship and festivities.
SEPT. 15 - VOLUNTEER WORK DAY
Monday begins with coffee and a sunrise over Lake Huron followed by a work day with volunteers from Michigan's tourism industry joining staff at Tawas Point State Park for projects to help preserve and protect this amazing natural resource.

Registration is $50 per person, which includes a custom-designed t-shirt for the event. Free motorcoach transportation provided by Indian Trails will be offered between Grand Rapids and East Tawas on Sunday, returning Monday evening. A discounted lodging rate for Sunday night will be available to registered attendees.
