*PLEASE NOTE: this event takes place at two locations. Starting at the Low House and then To Harvest Moon in New Brunswick.
Get a closer look at the people and stories behind the American Revolution, then head across the river for an afternoon of history, conversation and a few lively debates.
Start your day at the Cornelius Low House Museum at 10 AM with a free guided tour of the 250th-themed exhibit. See rarely exhibited objects and historic documents connected to the Revolution, along with interactive displays that bring the people, places and events of the time to life.
Then head to New Brunswick for Tavern Talks at Harvest Moon Brewery & Café at noon, hosted by the New Jersey Historical Commission.
This isn’t your typical history program. Meet historical reenactors portraying people with very different views of the Revolution, from Patriots and Loyalists to those who wanted to stay out of the conflict altogether. Move around the room, meet different characters and hear their perspectives on the choices and conflicts that shaped this time in history.
You might even find yourself debating what you would have done.
Come for the history. Stay for the conversation, and see what happens when a Loyalist, a Patriot and a pacifist walk into a bar.
