Texture paste, crackle medium and one very shifty magpie
Come and spend a relaxed afternoon in the studio creating a beautifully textured magpie painting, complete with wine, nibbles and gorgeous artist-quality materials.
This three-hour workshop is all about building layers, experimenting with texture and creating a painting that feels completely your own.
Your 11 × 14-inch canvas will be prepared before you arrive with texture paste, crackle medium and a gesso undercoat, giving us plenty of time to get straight into the fun stuff.
During the workshop, you will:
• Choose your own base colour
• Build a rich, layered and deliciously textured background
• Work with crackle effects and raised texture
• Transfer the magpie design onto your canvas
• Paint his feathers, branch and wonderfully shifty eyes
• Add the final details that make the work uniquely yours
By the end of the afternoon, you will leave with your own **finished, framed magpie artwork**, ready to hang at home.
No drawing or painting experience is required. I will guide you through every stage in a relaxed, supportive studio environment, without everyone being expected to produce an identical painting.
