A taster session of the Olympic sport of Air Rifle Shooting, in the Activity Space at St Wilfrid's Catholic School Crawley West Sussex.
Stuck for a skill to do your Duke of Edinburgh award? We come under the heading of skills!
Our regular Friday evening classes are open to all young people aged 7 to 18. It is equally suitable for all genders.
Shooting is very popular with those who have not taken to team sports (and most of those who have!) and is very accessible to those with a disability. It requires mental rather than physical strength, and teaches self-discipline, self-confidence, team-work, friendship and perseverance. Beginners will find this session an easy and gentle introduction to the sport.
Alternatively, for a more comprehensive introduction you can try out the School by booking a trial session during our normal classes . If the student enjoys the session why not sign up for the rest of the term? Or see our website for more information.
Air rifles, targets and pellets are all supplied and there are no additional costs. The course is run by instructors certified by the National Smallbore Rifle Association, target shooting's governing body. All have current DBS checks and regularly coach young people.
