Get ready for a weekend celebrating Arabic Music Art Dance and Culture as the 3rd Annual Taste of the Middle East Mississauga Festival returns from Jan 31 Feb 1 and Feb 2 2025. Following the success of its second edition this year's festival promises a vibrant showcase of Arabic Music Art and Heritage. From the food market live performances booths and vendors to artistic and interactive workshops the festival offers a diverse and enriching experience for all ages.
Highlights Include:
- Headliner Performances:
- Nancy Nasrallah (Lebanese Artist) brings "From Beirut to Toronto" vibes.
- Danny Ashkar celebrates Lebanon with a soulful performance.
- Salam Al Iraqi delivers the "Rhythms of Baghdad."
- Cultural Competitions:
- Zaghrouta Competition.
- Best 3abaya Competition – Dress to impress in your cultural attire!
- Dialect Competition presented by Sumaq Iraqi Restaurant.
- Workshops & Showcases:
- Dabke Workshop and Sword Show by Sooriana.
- Celebrate Egypt’s "Oldies but Goldies" with singer Amr Ali.
- Celebrate Syria with Hanna Touma and Syrian Vibes featuring Wael Haddad.
- Family Fun & Unique Shows:
- "The Not-So-Talented Talent Show" – Embrace your ugliest voice with Absha3 Sout.
- Tabla Show featuring Antonio.
- Saxophone Duet by Thea & Elie Na3eem.
- A Food Competition to highlight flavors from across the Arab world.
With official DJs Firas and Fadi setting the tone all weekend this festival promises to be an extraordinary blend of tradition innovation and community spirit. Don't miss the chance to celebrate the unity in diversity of Arab cultures!
A Positive Vision: Founded by Lebanese Canadian entrepreneur Hamsa Diab Farhat Taste of the Middle East aims to shift the narrative surrounding Middle Eastern cultures. "We wanted to create a positive bubble in the city showcasing our diverse culture beyond political stereotypes" says Farhat.
