The Magician- Love Under Will

Come join this month's discussion on The Magician! Please bring a deck if you have one- there will be a few extra on hand though if you need it. All levels welcome.

Since we already did The Lovers, as a Mercury card, The Magician felt appropriate for Gemini Season. Like the High Priestess, The Magician hearkens back to more animistic, egalitarian, earth based traditions, as opposed to The Hierophant. The symbols of the 4 suits/ elements are laid on the table before him. He stands in a lush garden, signaling the power of abundance. He raises his wand into the air as he points to the ground- "As above, so below. As within, so without." Manifestation requires a level of inner balance and dedication, symbolized by the snake/ ouroborous wrapped around his waist.

But Mercury is also the Trickster; it's how he is able to travel where others may never tread. Is this ritual, theater, or a sales pitch? In its higher expression, The Magician functions as a bridge between Earth and Spirit, the Spiritual and the Material. He embraces all the energies at his disposal, using them to create beauty and abundance both for himself, and for his community. Above all, the true Magician remembers that this power is not to be used frivolously or for the sake of ego. Intelligence without wisdom can create; but those creations will be hollow.

Presenter Bios:

Jenny Ruiz, a lifelong witch, was first drawn to tarot at the age of 8, and grew up reading for friends and family. The name Burning Times has been with her since the age of 19, and she chose it because it's a reminder that there will always be outside forces who are hostile to what we do; to femmes, to seekers, and to anyone considered Other. Though she has taken breaks from social media, she still does events and reads for private clients. One of her greatest joys in life is helping others connect to their own intuition and inner guidance.

Deborah Netburn has been turning to tarot for wisdom and guidance in her own life for over two decades. Largely self-taught, she is excited to gather and learn with other tarot enthusiasts in the LA area who share her love and reverence for the deep symbolic language of the cards.Deborah has had a lifelong fascination with humanity's rich variety of religious and spiritual practices and currently writes about faith, spirituality and joy for the Los Angeles Times.

REFUND POLICIES

All sales are final. There are no refunds for PRS events , except in the event of a medical emergency, including but not limited to a positive COVID-19 test. Ticket exchanges may be granted on a case by case basis, pending circumstances.

In the event that PRS is forced to cancel an event entirely, tickets will be refunded or vouchers offered for a rescheduled event.

PARKING

Limited parking is available onsite at PRS in both the front lot (entry from Los Feliz Blvd. when heading east) and back lot (entry from first alley way, off Griffith Park Blvd. from intersection with Los Feliz Blvd.), as well as street parking on Griffith Park Blvd. and (after 7 PM) on Los Feliz Blvd. We encourage attendees to consider carpooling, walking or biking to events if possible, and please be considerate of our Los Feliz neighbors when parking.

PRS EVENT POLICIES

• We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
• Events are subject to change without notice, including guest speakers and/or performers.
• We encourage you to arrive at least 30 min. before the scheduled event start time to find parking, enjoy the Bookstore and take your seats.
• Please turn off all mobile devices before the show. Talking and texting are not allowed during the events.
• No filming, audio recording or mobile phone recording of events, screenings, concerts or other programs by audience members is allowed without permission.
• There is no smoking permitted on PRS grounds.
• We strongly encourage guests to wear masks to PRS events to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
• PRS allows Service Animals into the facility under ADA and state guidelines. For further details please visit www.ADA.gov. No animals permitted whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support, under ADA guidelines and CA Health Code.
• Please do not bring outside food or drink into PRS events.
• Weapons are strictly prohibited at PRS events.
