Tarot 101: Intuition & Practice Series
About this Event
Join Heather of The Desert Mage at Bookdom Apothecary for a six-class Tarot series designed to introduce you to Tarot and help you develop your own intuition with the cards.
Whether you're completely new to Tarot or already have experience reading, these classes provide a welcoming environment to learn, practice, ask questions, and connect with others who are curious about Tarot.
The Beginner and Intermediate classes are offered separately each month.
A notebook or Tarot journal is recommended for recording inspirations, insights, and activities. Bringing your own Tarot deck is also recommended, if you don't have a deck there will be decks available for purchase.
Ticket Information
Beginner: $25 per class
Intermediate: $30 per class

October 18 — What Is Tarot?
Beginner:
Introduction to Tarot, brief history, common myths, connecting and cleansing your deck, and an introduction to the Major and Minor Arcana.
Activity: Connecting with your deck through journaling and single-card interpretation.
Intermediate:
Explore Tarot symbolism, hidden imagery, numerology, and elemental balance.
Activity: Symbolism deep dive and three-card spread practice.
November 15 — The Fool's Journey
Beginner:
Explore the Major Arcana and the Fool's Journey, numerology, elemental meanings of the suits, and big-picture storytelling.
Activity: Major Arcana reflection, finding your Life Card, and three-card spread practice.
Intermediate:
Explore shadow work, emotional reflection, and healing-focused Tarot interpretation.
Activity: Shadow work spread, journaling, and automatic writing.
December 20 — Life Energy & Tarot
Beginner:
Dive into the four suits, their energy in readings, archetypes, and life lessons.
Activity: Minor Arcana practice and creating your own three-card spread.
Intermediate:
Explore energy flow, intuition, and applying energy awareness to Tarot.
Activity: Partner practice, connecting with a sitter, and grounding practices.
January 17 — Reversals & Court Cards
Beginner:
Explore Court Cards, the people they can represent, symbolism, and energy.
Activity: Intuitive connection with the Court Cards.
Intermediate:
Explore reversed cards, blocked energy, and how reversals can clarify or complicate a reading.
Activity: Reading examples, discussion, and practice readings.
February 21 — Reading Styles
Beginner:
Learn question fundamentals, how to build a reading, and how to tell the story of the cards.
Activity: Grounding and partner or self-reading practice.
Intermediate:
Explore personal reading styles, finding your reading voice, communicating with yourself or a sitter, and developing your own reading ritual.
Activity: Grounding, creating your reading ritual, and optional partner or self-reading.
March 21 — Ethics & Self-Care
Beginner:
Explore intuitive interpretation, ethics, consent, boundaries, and healthy Tarot practices.
Activity: Self-care, energetic boundaries, intuitive card connection, and creating your own spread.
Intermediate:
Explore energy work, ethical readings, professional practices, and burnout prevention.
Activity: Partner readings with feedback and self-reflection.
