About this Event
It is within this spirit of close listening and personal expression that we are delighted to welcome Tara Minton, one of the most original and captivating voices on the UK jazz scene.
A true pioneer of the jazz harp, Tara has redefined the instrument’s role in contemporary jazz, combining lyrical elegance with rhythmic drive, harmonic depth and an unmistakable sense of swing. Her recorded work, including the acclaimed album Tara’s Travels, reveals a composer and bandleader of real imagination—music that is thoughtful, lyrical and rhythmically alive, with the harp firmly placed at the heart of the modern jazz conversation.
Many will have recently seen Tara appearing on BBC television at Christmas, performing alongside Alex Garnett at the iconic Ronnie Scott’s, as part of a heartfelt tribute to the timeless music of Burt Bacharach. There were moments that beautifully captured her musical sensitivity, poise and naturally endearing stage presence, including her own interpretation of the classic song “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again.”
Live, Tara draws the listener in with warmth and ease, creating a sound world that is refined, expressive and deeply human. Whether you are discovering her for the first time or returning as an admirer, this promises to be an evening of rare musical insight and genuine artistry.
By joining us, you help support our new venue and a quietly held commitment to keeping great music live for as long as possible.
