Join us every Tuesday at 4:00 PM for Tap 1, a beginner tap class perfect for young students who want to explore music and movement. No previous dance experience is required for this fun and welcoming class. Appropriately fitting tap shoes are required.
This class fuses Broadway Dance, Jazz, and Rhythmic Tap for a well-rounded introduction to the tap genre. Students will learn to create sounds with their tap shoes, accompanied by music, to develop an understanding of rhythm, performance, and musicality. Each week, dancers will enhance their strength and coordination through warm-up exercises, across-the-floor combinations, center floor work, and excerpts of choreography. By participating in creative movement activities and games, students will create fun memories and friendships, all while
familiarizing themselves with early concepts of dance history and improvisation.
This class offers an optional end-of-season recital in May.
