ABOUT THE SHOW:
At an upscale meditation retreat in Trump’s America, Lloyd Dobler — the teenage boombox romantic played by John Cusack in the 1989 film Say Anything — returns as a middle-aged Zen-punk anti-guru, leading a meditation designed as a spiritual Molotov cocktail for surviving late-stage everything. A dark comedy that pits ancient spiritual wisdom against modern collapse.
What begins as a guided meditation on “changing yourself, and by doing so, changing the world” quickly becomes something more combustible: a darkly funny collision of political satire, Gen X cultural memory, Taoist philosophy, storytelling, and the search for meaningful action in a world built to monetize almost everything.

This will be an unusually intimate presentation of the show for a maximum audience of 60, performed inside a live/work artist loft at Western Avenue Studios in Lowell.
