TANYS is thrilled to be back in Rome, NY this year. We're planning all the Festival features you know and love, at a NEW location: the historic Capitol Theatre in downtown Rome. It's a 1928 facility newly renovated to its original look. And we've condensed the Festival weekend to TWO (2) days: Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22.

This year marks the 66th year of New York State's only festival for community theatre. So our Festival theme playfully recalls the famed U.S. Route 66, which originally ran from Chicago, IL to Santa Monica, CA. You may know the song "(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66," first recorded by Nat King Cole and later covered by the Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode, John Mayer and others. The legendary road also inspired the TV series Route 66, about two young men driving across America "in search of work, adventure and themselves."

Now it's time for our THEATRE adventure! The TANYS Festival is one of the BEST deals you'll find anywhere to be immersed in the live theatre experience. Whether you're new to Festival, or a longtime attendee, this event is the highlight of community theatre in New York State. Our official Festival hotel is the Fairfield by Marriott Inn and Suites, 90 Dart Circle, Rome, NY. It’s a 7-minute drive from the Capitol Theatre. You MUST reserve your room EARLY to get the special TANYS rate, either online or by phone:

• Reserve your room online (NOTE: this link EXPIRES on November 3)
• Call the Fairfield at 315-334-4244, and tell them you’re with the TANYS group (NOTE: accommodations by phone will be RELEASED to the general public on October 21. After that date, reservations will be honored on a space- and rate-available basis.)

If you're on the TANYS postal mailing list, look for the Fall 2025 issue of CALLBOARD (the TANYS newsletter) to arrive soon with Festival details. We also have details posted on the Festival 2025 web page on the TANYS website (TANYS.org).

Early registration deadline is SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2025. Any registrations received after this deadline will incur a $10 late fee. REMEMBER: current TANYS individual members get a BIG discount on ticket prices!

ALL online registration options will END at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. TANYS is unable to issue refunds for Festival registrations after November 15, 2025 - NO EXCEPTIONS.

Q: What's included in a Superpass?

A: The Festival Superpass includes all 3 performance sessions, post-performance adjudications, workshops, the Friday night Afterglow (a gathering with fellow Festival folks for light food, drinks and conversation after the first performance session - open to Superpass holders ONLY), and the Saturday night Awards Banquet. A Superpass is BY FAR YOUR BEST DEAL to experience all the activities and fun of the Festival!

Q: My company is an Organizational member of TANYS. Does that mean I'm a TANYS member, so I can register at the TANYS Member rate?

A: No. To register at the TANYS Member rate, you must be a current paid INDIVIDUAL member of TANYS. A company's Organizational membership is NOT THE SAME as a person's Individual membership.

Q: What's a Qualified Participant?

A: A Qualified Participant is an Adjudicator, TANYS Board member, TANYS Festival Committee member, or verified actor/director/crew member/author for a Participating Company that has been invited to perform at Festival. ALL of the above, if they are not TANYS members, MUST be pre-approved to register at the Qualified Participant rate.

Q: I have special dietary needs for the Saturday night Banquet. How do I let you know?
