Bunnell Street Arts Center welcomes the Anchorage Tango Group on November 23rd and 24th. Join us for two days of expert tango instruction from Dan Boccia and Hiroko Oliver. Immerse yourself in the world of Argentine tango through engaging workshops designed for all levels, from beginners to experienced dancers. Don't miss the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of this captivating partner dance and experience the vibrant social atmosphere of a milonga.Sunday, November 24th - All levels lesson ($25) - Tango lesson 12:00-1:30pm with a "práctica" from 1:30-2:30pm to follow.
Dan Boccia and Hiroko Oliver have been hosting and teaching tango in Anchorage since 2001 and they both travel nationally and worldwide, growing their understanding and appreciation for tango. Hiroko once spent 6 months dancing daily in Buenos Aires, and Dan has been a nationally recognized DJ since 2001. They teach tango as it is danced in clubs all over the world, in a way that allows individual expression and emphasizes the improvisational nature of the dance.
