Tangling a Labyrinth: Zentangle-Inspired Art (four-week series, in-person and Zoom)

Meets SEPTEMBER 22, 29; OCTOBER 6, 13
Presenter: Christine Isham
Note: Introduction to Zentangle® provides the foundation for tangling offerings and is an ideal starting point for new students. Completion of an introductory or prior class is recommended but not required.
Labyrinths date back at least 4,000 years and have been found all over the world in many different cultures. A labyrinth has a single uninterrupted path that leads to the center and then back out again. It is designed to foster contemplation or spiritual exploration. Zentangle® is a meditative art form where you draw structured, repetitive patterns to create abstract images. Its also fosters a sense of inner peace. During this series, we will tangle various patterns on a five-circuit labyrinth in the Chartres tradition, focusing on a section of the path each week. We’ll cover our finished work with sealer to create an individual finger-labyrinth that can be used at any time for meditation and relaxation.
A labyrinth outline of about 7 inches will be provided for students.
