Tamale Cooking Workshop on the Farm
Date: June 19, 2026
Time: 6:00–8:00 PM
Price: $80 per guest
Experience the rich traditions of Mexican tamale making in this hands‑on workshop hosted here at Hop & Hen Farm. Chef Ernesto will guide guests through preparing both corn husk and banana leaf tamales, exploring Mexican and South American techniques, masa preparation, and classic fillings.
Throughout the class, enjoy handcrafted mezcal margaritas and seasonal aguas frescas made with fresh fruits and herbs, as well as wine. After assembling your tamales, they’ll steam while you take a tour of the farm and visit with the resident goats.
We’ll finish the evening with a relaxing family‑style dinner featuring the tamales you created, paired with authentic sauces and traditional sides. Dessert features Canela Citrus Petits baked by Deb here at Hop & Hen Farm.
Each guest leaves with:
● Printed recipes
● Tamale wrapping techniques
● Sauce pairing ideas
● Inspiration to recreate the experience at home
This immersive class blends authentic Mexican cooking, handcrafted beverages, and cultural storytelling into a memorable culinary experience. It’s perfect for beginners, couples, families, and anyone who loves great food and community.
