Join us for a scenic day trip to the northernmost part of the Flint Hills. We will stop at the famous Oregon Trail site Alcove Spring for a short, guided trail walk and exploration of the natural spring and rock formations.
Our lunch break will be long enough to enjoy a relaxed meal at El Ranchero and optional time to walk the shopping district to see the unique businesses nearby.
After lunch we will visit the Pony Express Barn and Museum. We will get a look at a replica of a rope ferry which represents how travelers crossed the Blue River on their journey westward.
Ages 8+
Cost is $40 for FHDC members and $45 for non-members and is scholarship eligible.
