Join us as we step into the footsteps of pioneers and trailblazers!
The first stop will be Watt’s Coffee Co. in Council Grove, so we can fuel up for our day of discovery. Then, we start our step back in time at the Post Office Oak Museum and Seth Hays Home. Midday we will enjoy lunch and brews at the oldest restaurant west of the Mississippi – The Hays House 1857 Restaurant and Tavern. We will visit historic rest stops and shelters, including Hermit's Cave. We’ll take a scenic walk along the Neosho Riverwalk, a paved 1.1-mile trail along a well-documented crossing of the Santa Fe Trail, and the gorgeous Madonna of the Trail statue. Our last stop will be Riverbank Brewing Co., for a refreshing beverage.
Adults 21+ only.
Cost is $30 for FHDC members and $35 for non-members. All travel and site tour fees are included in your registration. Lunch and beverage costs are not included in the registration fee.
Tour leaves the Flint Hills Discovery Center at 9 a.m. in our 15-passenger van and returns at approximately 5 p.m. Pre-registration is required by Friday, February 7, at 5 p.m.
