Talk With Dr. Ben Meng - Private Event

The Asian Financial Society is honored to present a special speaker event as part of its 40th Anniversary, co-hosted with the China Institute on February 26, 2025.

Dr. Ben Meng Bio:

Ben Meng is the Managing Director and head of Investment Portfolio Management in the Office of the Chief Investment Officer at CPP Investments - Canada's largest pension fund, based in Toronto. In this role, Ben and his team are responsible for the allocation of the active portfolio of CPP Investments and for ensuring the Fund has the best possible combination of active investment strategies across its six investment departments.

Previously, Ben was the Executive Vice President and Chairman of Asia Pacific at Franklin Templeton, where he expanded investment offerings and led private equity and venture capital initiatives. He was Deputy CIO at SAFE, CIO at CalPERS, and Director of Eight Sequoias LLC.

Ben holds a Master of Financial Engineering from UC Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UC Davis. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Investment Management, teaches at top business schools globally, and is the Citi Visiting Chair in International Business at Schwarzman College. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Committee of 100.
