Despite being a city of wealth, during the Victorian period, many inhabitants of Worcester shared cramped, overcrowded homes, with poor access to clean water leading to the spread of several deadly diseases. In this talk hosted in The Commandery’s beautiful medieval Great Hall, author and medical historian Kevin Goodman will explore what these diseases were and the treatment and medical care available to the people of Worcester at the time.
This talk celebrates the opening of The Commandery’s new exhibition Wyldgate Lane – A Walk Through Victorian Worcester.
