Join us for Episode 4 of "Talk It Out Tuesday: The Art Of Development and Grant Writing," where we explore how businesses and nonprofits can secure grant funding and improve their sustainability strategies. Whether you are new to the grant process or looking to refine your approach, this session will equip you with the tools to enhance your grant readiness and write compelling proposals.
Our special guest, Megan Carras, brings extensive expertise in fundraising, research, and writing, with a focus on supporting low-income entrepreneurs in the D.C. area. Megan has worked as a non-profit fundraising consultant, helping organizations across the U.S. with their grant programs. Her deep experience includes working with The Nature Conservancy and other non-profit sectors, providing her with firsthand knowledge of the strategic needs for successful fundraising.
Megan holds a Ph.D. in Geography and Sustainable Development from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London, an MA in Environmental Management from Harvard University, and a BA in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia.

About Kimberly:
Kimberly’s background and extensively diverse experience, both as a corporate leader and entrepreneur, helped pave the way for her to land here with us at Wacif. Having worked cross markets specializing in Business Development, Sourcing, and Logistics cross markets within Corporate, Association, to Government and Tourism. Her career spans work on high-profile events, such as Presidential Inaugurations, City-wide Conferences, and managing vendor services for global corporations. She has created and executed out of the box strategies that have helped businesses generate revenue and build long-term partnerships. She credits her time working as a Business Consultant at Bell Atlantic and time spent working under leadership team at Management College’s Advancement office with teaching her some of the most useful strategies in Business Development and Government contracting that have helped her throughout her 30 years in business.
Passionate about community service, Kimberly volunteers in education, mentors aspiring professionals, and serves on inclusion-focused committees. She also enjoys traveling with her son, introducing him to volunteerism and diverse cultural experiences.
