About Zena Abdelbaky:
Zena Ashraf AbdelBaky is an award-winning Egyptian writer and director and one of the rising voices in contemporary Egyptian cinema. Her debut feature film, MEEN YESADAQ, world-premiered at the 45th Cairo International Film Festival, screened in Egyptian cinemas, and received honorary awards at the AUC Film Festival.
A graduate of the Digital Film Academy in New York, Zena has worked across the US and UK and directed multiple award-winning short films. Most recently, she completed her first TV series, WALAD W BENT W SHAYEB, a Watch It original that received strong critical acclaim and quickly became a trending title further cementing her place in today’s Egyptian storytelling scene.
