Tonight's talk is all about optimising passage planning and routing for sailing boats - using the latest weather forecasts, a computer programme and some clever mathematics. The talk also includes a brief history of round the world sailing and the issues they had with passage planning and routing to give some context. Although we are essentially not a racing club there is always an eagerness to be the first to arrive at the destination Port. Maybe this talk will help in this respect.
