Talavera Mug Painting — A Cinco de Mayo Celebration
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a hands-on dive into one of Mexico's most iconic art forms. Talavera pottery, born in Puebla over 400 years ago, is known for its bold cobalt blues, sunburst yellows, and intricate floral patterns that have decorated Mexican architecture and furnishings for decades.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll hand-paint your own ceramic mug using traditional underglaze techniques. Follow classic Talavera motifs or design something uniquely yours. All materials, tools, and guidance included, just bring your curiosity (and maybe a friend).
Your finished mug will be kiln-fired, food-safe, and ready for pickup the following week. Take home a piece of living tradition: your new favorite morning coffee mug, a gift that actually means something, or the prettiest thing on your shelf.
