Takeover Day for 2-5 years

We’re inviting under 5s (2-5 years) and their families to take over roles at West Berkshire Museum for the morning as part of Takeover Day 2026.
Takeover Day is an annual event where museums and heritage organisations invite children and young people “to take over” roles normally done by adults.
The under 5s will have an opportunity to be an archaeologist, an artist, a curator and a gallery steward. The children can choose to take part in all roles or just the ones that appeal to them.
Places are *FREE* but limited. Places must be booked in advance here: www.westberkshireheritage.org/whats-on
Please only book a place for each child. Accompanying adult(s) need not book a place.
Please note: the Museum is closed to the public on Tuesday mornings. We are opening for the ticketholders of this event only. The museum café, shop and upstairs galleries will be closed throughout.
