Take the Mystery out of Sourdough!
Learn how easy sourdough bread making can be. No baking experience needed.
This class will give you the confidence you need and the know-how experience to start your sourdough journey with ease!
What to Expect – 2 ½ hour class (supplies included)
You will learn the basics of sourdough starters, equipment, a fool-proof method, a recipe designed for Florida humidity, troubleshooting and sourdough health benefits.
You will leave the class with 100 grams of organic sourdough starter, a sourdough loaf you make in class, cheesecloth and a shaping container. Your dough will need to proof in your refrigerator overnight, so you will bake your loaf at home.
You will also receive a sourdough manual to guide you on your sourdough journey.
Bring yourself and the willingness to learn.
Be prepared to get “sticky!”
Before class, you will need to purchase these supplies to have at your home for when you return from class. A food scale, organic bread flour OR unbleached bread flour, non iodized salt, non chlorinated water, a glass jar or glass container to store your sourdough starter in and a 6 or 7-quart dutch oven OR "TWO" 9x5 metal loaf pans. All of these tools will be needed to feed your starter and bake your bread!
AFTER CLASS, Please be prepared to go home and work with your dough for an additional 15 minutes. If you want to run an errand after class - your dough will need to be kept at room temperature for 2-3 hours while it BULK PROOFS. It is advised not to leave your dough in the car with extreme temperatures, take it with you while you run your errand.
