TAKE ONE ACTION

Art At A Time Like This will celebrate six years of operation this March. To mark this milestone, we are hosting a benefit in support of our upcoming public art campaign, TAKE ONE ACTION, on March 27 at Cristin Tierney Gallery.

The evening will feature artists in conversation who have previously collaborated with Art At A Time Like This, alongside artists participating in TAKE ONE ACTION. Guests are invited to join us for drinks, bites, and meaningful conversations, culminating in concrete discussions and action items for how to move forward at a time like this.

Take One Action is a public art campaign urging people to take a single action to help protect democracy. The campaign will roll out with wheat-paste posters across New York City, alongside a robust online and social media presence.

At a time when fear, resignation, and despair feel overwhelming, Take One Action offers an antidote. Our goal is to mobilize people through the powerful work of hundreds of participating artists.

Open call, ongoing beginning March 15th: We are asking artists to contribute one artwork paired with one suggested action, a single act individuals can take to challenge the rise of authoritarianism in the United States. Some works will be printed and wheat-pasted throughout New York City. Others will circulate digitally. Selected contributions will be featured in an online exhibition on our website, envisioned as a freely accessible repository of images and ideas that can continue to grow and circulate.

Take One Action will be presented in public spaces through a wheat-pasting campaign this spring and fall, while the online campaign will continue to grow and expand through the midterm elections. Throughout the campaign, we will build partnerships across the U.S. to form a national network of resistance.
