Connect past and present within the grounds of Teltown House in the heart of the Boyne Valley, a royal assembly site where the historical Tailteann Games were held for centuries. In preparation for the summer Solstice, and in deep contrast to a time when feats of strength and mock battles would mark the goddess-inspired harvest festival celebrations, this quiet assembly is a time to reflect on our cultural and ecological responsibility and connection to this historically rich location in Meath.Named after the Irish mythological goddess Tailtiu, hear about this ancient landscape with local historian Anthony Murphy. Explore the current diversity of life in the aquatic habitats of the lowland River Blackwater as it meanders through this historic farmland with ecologist Emma Reeves. Take part in a restorative sound bath with artist Chloe McHugh on the river’s northern banks, immersed in sounds of water, and wildlife, while tuning in to our ancestorial heritage flowing from the land.
Note this is an outdoor event.
Sound bath is only recommended from the 2nd trimester onwards and not suitable for people with a pace maker or epilepsy (and similar conditions).
Please get in touch before booking if you require mobility assistance.
Further details including meeting point and recommendations will be shared in the days leading up to the event.
