TAKE BACK THE NIGHT!
Join us Friday September 18th for our 3rd Annual Take Back the Night event.
Take Back the Night is a decades-long international grass-roots movement that brings communities together to stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence, raise awareness, and demand safer streets and public spaces for everyone.
This event is free and open to everyone.
Together we can let survivors in our community know they are not alone and we are here if they need us.
Event Details:
• Performances by local musicians
• Open Microphone where survivors are invited to share their stories in a supportive, community setting
• “No More Silence” Art Display (community members are encouraged to bring a piece of art to contribute, or use on-site materials to create something during the event)
• Community Resource Tables staffed by representatives from local organizations offering information and connections to services
• Sign and Button-Making Station where attendees can create their own protest signs and buttons to carry during the march
• A Community March through the streets of Stratford as a visible show of solidarity with survivors of all forms of gender-based violence
