Take Back the Night (TBTN) is an internationally recognized, community-based event aimed at raising awareness about sexual violence—particularly against women and gender-diverse individuals who are disproportionately impacted—while reaffirming everyone’s right to feel safe in their communities.
Hosted by Miramichi Safe Harbour Services, this year’s event invites you to learn more about local supports for survivors, walk in solidarity through Downtown Newcastle, and connect with others committed to creating a safer, more supportive Miramichi.
🕕 6:00–7:00 p.m. – Open House @ 136 Newcastle Blvd (2nd Floor)
Visit our new office space to find out more about our services, ask questions, pick up resources, make a sign for the walk, and enjoy some light refreshments. Whether you're a familiar face or a first-time visitor, we welcome you to drop in.
🕖 7:00–8:00 p.m. – Gathering at Queen Elizabeth Park
We'll gather for opening remarks and a drumming performance by the Gipoo’eesk Women Eagles Spirit Drummers at Queen Elizabeth Park starting at 7:00pm. Then, we'll head out on a symbolic community walk through Downtown Newcastle to show our shared commitment to safety, solidarity, and support for survivors.
