The Fulton County Genealogy Group is hosting a free Underground Railroad program on Monday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Museum of Fulton County in Wauseon. “Take a Ride on the Underground Railroad in Northwest Ohio” is one of many free programs planned throughout 2026 at the museum.During the free program at the Museum of Fulton County, Dr. Tristen Dominquez-Turkopp, Program and Events Manager from Heritage Sylvania, will share about this important story from our region’s history and how Ohio relates to its conception. Dr. Dominquez-Turkopp will also share about Northwest Ohio’s role in the Underground Railroad and what the public sentiment was at that time regarding slavery. The program will also include discussion of some families from northwest Ohio – what they did, how they did it, and some lasting evidence of their activities.
