๐๐๐๐๐๐ (experimental post-punk): mems of Mdou Moctar Band, but entirely their own entity. The band operates from a foundation of scorching guitar-driven music from the Sahel, but its autonomy takes flight in the freedom of improvisation and punk ethos tread by the likes of Fugazi, presenting wild music steeped in DIY rock, soukous and post-punk. Channeling the spirit of the membersโ roots in DIY basement shows in the eastern US and generator-powered wedding band gigs in Niger, the bandโs name means โnoiseโ in the Tuareg language.
