Taiwan Panorama─Taipei Chinese Orchestra European Tour 2026“From Taipei to the international stage, let Taiwan’s sound be heard.” Merging cultural heritage of the East with contemporary symphonic idioms, Taipei Chinese Orchestra (TCO) is bringing the distinctive “Sound of Taipei” to three of the most prestigious concert halls in the world: Berliner Philharmonie, Gewandhaus Leipzig, and Goldener Saal Wien im Musikverein during its 2026 European tour. The audience will have an authentic experience of Taiwan’s cultural pulsation and spiritual energy.
Under the baton of Maestro Li-Pin Cheng, TCO is joining forces with internationally renowned cellist Wen-Sinn Yang as well as virtuosos Yi-Chun Lai (Dizi) in concerted works showcasing kaleidoscopic colors and exuberant energy deeply rooted in the Asian tradition. The programs will feature contemporary works written by different generations of Taiwanese composers
including Wen-Yeh Chiang, Ty-Zen Hsiao, Yiu-Kwong Chung, and I-Yu Wang. The music encompasses a wide range of styles and idioms typical to Taiwan, e.g. indigenous Taiwanese and Hakka, as well as sources of inspiration, e.g. folk temple fairs and natural scenery, which could vividly project certain unique features of Taiwan’s traditional culture as well as its artistic melting pot.
The audience will sure be fascinated while exploring on this music journey of Taiwan Panorama.
