Taiko Basics - Beginner Taiko Course

Welcome to Tatsumaki Taiko's "Taiko Basics" - Beginner Taiko Course!

Tatsumaki Taiko will be teaching "Taiko Basics" a beginner taiko course at our studio, 4521 Barrett Ave., Richmond.

The course starts on Wednesday, January 29, 6:30pm to 8pm; and continues on Wednesdays through February 26.

Full course fee: $130/person, drop-in fee: $30/person per class.

We supply all the equipment and materials for this course.

Each class in the course will cover a specific topic focusing on learning the basics of taiko drumming: "Ji Uchi" beats, "Kata" and movement, and different rhythms played in traditional taiko songs.

Have fun, meet people, and learn about taiko and Japanese festival music. After the course is finished, students are encouraged to continue playing taiko by joining our "Community Group" lessons.
