About this Event
Unintentional falls are the leading cause of injury deaths in adults 65 years of age and older in the U.S. Every 19 minutes an older adult dies from a fall and every 11 seconds an older adult is treated in an emergency room for a fall-related injury.
Tai Chi uses dynamic stretching during movements, slightly flexed stances that load leg muscles and bones, corrects body posture and alignment, and develops postural control and stability.
Tai Chi is proven to improve mobility, decrease incidence of falls, and decrease the fear of falling.
