Older adults are more likely to fall, which can cause serious injuries. The causes of falls include muscle weakness, poor balance and vision, lack of confidence in moving about, and medication's effects. Many studies have shown that tai chi is one of the most effective approaches for preventing falls. The Dr. Paul Lam's Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention Program is recognized by the CDC as an evidence-based program. Join Family Life Educator Robin Ridgley to learn exercises to improve muscular strength, flexibility, and fitness. The series will meet twice a week from 10:30-11:30 a.m. from October 21 to December 12 at the Williamson County Extension Office. Each session builds on what has already been learned, so registration includes the full duration of this eight-week program. Commitment to the full program is recommended due to class format.
