Join us at Spruill for a free Tai Chi class!Tai Chi, a moving meditation, is a graceful and enjoyable martial art that can improve balance, flexibility, and strength without stressing joints and has the potential to reduce mental stress by fostering calmness and inner focus.
This introductory course welcomes all levels – no prior experience is required! This course will touch on four main components:
Qi Gong: Mindful breathing and stretching exercises to activate the body and spirit
Basic Techniques: Flowing, precise postures that make up the Tai Chi form
Push Hands: A two-person drill that teaches balance, yielding and the application of force
Martial Applications: The self-defense purposes behind the movements
