What is Tai Chi?
Tai chi is a gentle, low-impact exercise that offers a wide range of benefits. As you learn the slow, deliberate movements, you'll improve your balance, flexibility, and muscle strength. The practice is often described as "meditation in motion," and it has potential benefits of reducing stress and anxiety by calming the mind and promoting a sense of well-being. Tai chi also enhances body awareness and can lead to better posture and coordination. It's a safe and accessible activity for people of all ages and fitness levels, making it a perfect way to start your journey toward a healthier, more balanced life.
This is an adult class for participants over 18 years old only . Sun Style Tai Chi is used. Participants can be provided a chair for balance and rest. Movements can be modified if needed due to injury or mobility limitations.
N.C. Cooperative Extension is an equal opportunity provider.
