TACO and Friends Celebrating the Music of Nancy Bloomer Deussen

The Terrible Adult Chamber Orchestra (TACO) is thrilled to celebrate its 15th anniversary with a tribute to the late, internationally renowned composer Nancy Bloomer Deussen. On March 30, 2025, TACO will present TACO and Friends: Celebrating the Music of Nancy Bloomer Deussen at the Spangenberg Theater, Gunn High School, in Palo Alto. This special event will feature the world premiere of Shoreline to Skyline, Deussen’s final orchestral work, commissioned specifically for TACO.

Shoreline to Skyline is a deeply personal and breathtaking tribute to the local landscapes that inspired Nancy, from the serene shoreline to the sweeping views of the foothills. Completed just months before her passing in 2019, this work was delayed by the pandemic, and we are honored to finally present it to our community.

In addition to the premiere, the event will include a short documentary and storytelling about the composer’s creative process, with guest musicians performing other selections from her body of work. A reception will follow, offering an opportunity to connect with fellow music lovers and celebrate the incredible legacy of Nancy Bloomer Deussen.
