About this Event
On 12th September join us at Cupra Park home of Drogheda Town for a special charity football match in support of the Irish Sepsis Foundation.Football will bring people together for a powerful cause as Stephen Carr’s Premier League Legends take on Robbie Horgan’s Irish Football Legends in what promises to be an entertaining and meaningful afternoon.
Behind the match lies a deeply personal connection to the cause. Former Premier League and Republic of Ireland international Stephen Carr tragically lost his mother to sepsis, a loss that continues to drive his commitment to raising awareness. On the other side of the pitch, former League of Ireland goalkeeper and Manager Robbie Horgan is a survivor of sepsis. His experience is a reminder that early recognition and treatment can save lives.
Together their stories reflect two sides of sepsis. The devastating loss it can cause and the hope that comes with survival and awareness. Both men proudly serve as brand ambassadors for the Irish Sepsis Foundation and are helping to ensure more people recognise the signs of this life threatening condition. This charity match is about more than football. It is about community, awareness and standing together so that fewer families experience the heartbreak of sepsis.Supporters attending on the day will have the chance to
• Watch Premier League legends take on League of Ireland greats and friends of the game
• Learn more about sepsis and why awareness saves lives
• Support the vital work of the Irish Sepsis Foundation
We warmly invite you to join us for what promises to be a memorable day of football, storytelling and solidarity.More player announcements and event details will follow soon.
