Join us for the Center's largest fundraising event of the year, held in the Nisei Community Hall/gymnasium, as we celebrate The Joy of Matsuri. Matsuri or festive attire is encouraged!Tabemasho will feature culinary creations from Bay Area chefs and restaurants, a silent auction and a Sweepstakes Drawing.
We are honored to highlight special guests from Niigata, Japan for our event this year:
Shinji Kasahara, from Tsubame City, is a fourth-generation craftsman at his family's 117-year-old metal blade manufacturing company, Tsuboe, Inc. He will showcase the beauty and tradition of his high-quality, award-winning graters.
A representative from Tsubamesanjo Regional Products will showcase a variety of culinary wares produced by shokunin or individuals committed to their crafts who dedicate their lives to perfecting their skills to produce exceptional culinary lifestyle goods. Enjoy demonstrations of the featured products and purchase quality items that often carry generations of durability.
The Joy of Matsuri theme was envisioned to focus on guests enjoying themselves, as they might at a summer matsuri or Japanese festival. It will feature 14 eateries serving guests from Japanese-style yatai (food booths), surrounded by a lively atmosphere and festive sounds. Come graze your way through our Tabemasho matsuri with friends, family and loved ones!
