Taal & Tales returns to Auckland with its most ambitious production yet — Shiv. Tandav. Shakti.
A full-length Kathak dance production telling the eternal story of Shiva and Shakti through classical Indian dance and live music. From the fierce stillness of the cosmic ascetic to the devotion of Sati, the patience of Parvati, and the raw power of the Tandava — this is a story of destruction and creation, balance and power, devotion and union.
What to expect:
- 40+ performers on stage
- Live Indian classical musicians — tabla, sitar, violin, vocals etc
- Ten acts of original Kathak choreography
- A story that will move you whether you know the mythology or not
This is not just a dance show. It is an experience.
