System Change Sessions with 7BP
About this Event
Let's change the system together!
This November, we collectively go on a mission to replace capitalism, to ditch competing to enrich billionaires and start collaborating to create real value and give back.
Curious about who we are? Check https://www.7billionpresidents.org and follow @7billionpresidents.
Each session brings in a different change expert. We host them, and we, young people, take the lead, exploring topics like the regenerative economy, the commons, alternative ways of organising, community building, and activism beyond protest signs.
No need to be a student and no prior experience is needed. Come to as many as you can, and bring your friends!
Learn concrete roadmaps of change, meet new people and be part of rewriting history by joining a movement that replaces capitalism before 2040 :) (Oh, and every session wraps up with a free community dinner!)
November 2nd, 4th, 11th, 16th, 18th, 25th and December 2nd
From 16:00 until 18:00
Usually at the Humanities Venture Lab, sometimes on location (in Amsterdam).
(This is a EU funded project)
(The order of speakers may change upon speakers' availability)

We Are All Presidents (Nov 2)

Get ready to discuss the world, the climate crisis, the commons, but also for a lot of fun!

How to Fall in Love with the Future (Nov 4)

Building the Movement (Nov 11)
Host: 7BP w/ Emmy Mol
Info: We discover with Emmy how to build a movement and make it irresistible!
How do we spark people’s interest? How do we engage them? How can we make the world a better place together instead of fighting alone?
🕑: 04:00 PM - 06:00 PM
Governing the Land (Nov 16)
Host: 7BP w/ Maarten Klop
Info: How might land be governed within the 7 Billion Presidents framework, in service of building a society where everyone has access to healthy food? What is the Harvest Camp model? How can that help the new system based on collaboration?
Together with Maarten we look at how it has worked so far, how it can better engage people within their local territories, and how it can deeply understand and respond to the needs of young people.
🕑: 04:00 PM - 06:00 PM
The Need to Return to the Commons (Nov 18)
Host: 7BP w/ Natasha van Hulst
Info: An interactive dialogue with Natasha van Hulst of Ground van Bestaan, opening up a wide-ranging conversation on healthy food, the commons, planetary boundaries, long-term socio-economic trends, and the systemic transformations these all point toward. As part of the session, there will also be an opportunity to visit the food forest together.
🕑: 04:00 PM - 06:00 PM
Amsterdam Alternative (Nov 25)
Host: 7BP w/ Ivo Schmetz

Community dinner.
🕑: 04:00 PM - 06:00 PM
7BP and dinner at De Sering (Dec 2)
Host: 7BP w/ De Sering
Info: We close the series of gatherings with a dinner at De Sering bringing together all participants and decision-makers for a shared community moment. Before the meal, De Sering’s founder will offer a short introduction to the concept behind the space, how it has evolved over time, and where it stands today in its growth. The evening will also be a moment to pause and reflect together: a wrap-up of the sessions, and an open conversation about where we go from here. And obviously a moment of celebration!
