Artists at the Edge
A short documentary film about "otherness" and two remarkable queer artists continuing to create at a moment when hard fought freedoms are being threatened in a polarized society. The heart of the film highlights the lives and works of these Provincetown artists who each found themselves six feet from stardom: Kenny Lockwood (a senior LGBTQ+ identifying painter, musician and herbologist) and Darlene Van Alstyne (a BIPOC LGBTQ+ identifying woman and singer, dancer and actress). The film, shot entirely in Provincetown, embraces creativity, equality and action at a time when our democracy stands on a precipice.
Cowboy Boots
Jack, a gay cowboy from Nebraska, finds anything but the promised land he envisioned when he visits a San Francisco gay club for the first time.
Emerald City
Two young men cross paths on the back roads of the American Southwest and despite their different backgrounds, find common ground along the Border.Emerald City is an lgbtqia+ story of two young men: one who has aged out of foster care where he was placed after his parents were deported and the other on his way to join the border patrol. Each isolated in their own way, both seek a sense of community, of belonging, and meet on the back roads of the American Southwest, where they develop a tentative friendship that gradually becomes more.
Ultramarine
In 1770's England, a professional artist becomes frustrated with her life and sets out to solve her mounting art block.
Committed
During the Lavender Scare, government files were created to track individuals deemed to have “weak morals.” Lists were made. Suspected gays were on those lists. Black and Native Americans were on those lists. Intellectuals. Feminists. This family was on those lists.A family's matriarch is hunted down by an underground government unit the night of their son's Birthday party, exposing her family to more than her perpetrators bargained for.Committed is the story of one American family simply trying to exist at a time in America that doesn't look to different from today.
Featuring: Committed, written by Upstate NY’s Lisa Cordileone and directed by Monica Raymund, is a suspense-driven short that follows a family’s darkest night when their matriarch is hunted by an underground government unit at their son’s birthday party — revealing more than anyone expected.
Doors Close for Parade at 1:15 PM Sharp!
