~ Fusion Bellydance ~
Elia Luna is a fusion belly dancer based in Mendocino county. She carries the lineages of Middle Eastern dance and is deeply inspired by temple dance, popping/locking, waving, ballet, and other Western contemporary styles. Her style is a living tapestry—equal parts reverence and rebellion.
A dedicated student of movement, she has trained under master teachers such as Zoe Jakes and has performed alongside visionary artists like Deya Dova. Through dance, Elia not only discovered a path of personal transformation but a calling to guide others. Her work bridges the technical and the transcendental, inviting each dancer to explore embodied presence, deep awareness, and creative liberation.
This fusion belly dance class is designed as a gateway into ecstatic movement. We’ll begin with a grounding warm-up to awaken the body and connect with the breath, followed by technique drills rooted in belly dance fundamentals and fused with contemporary, urban, and sacred dance styles. These foundations will flow into a guided freeform segment, where improvisation and musicality open space for playful self-expression.
Whether you’re new to dance or a seasoned mover this class offers an inclusive, supportive environment to explore your unique movement language. The intention is to build confidence, unlock creativity, and to prime your body for the ecstatic journey to follow.
~ About the DJ: Kai Altair ~
Kai Altair is a songwriter, producer, and DJ with a deep reverence for movement, rhythm, and spiritual exploration. Her musical project is Aazav--created with her partner Haj i Ji. Drawing inspiration from mystical traditions, nature's rhythms, and cosmic energies--Kai's DJ sets are a journey into realms of worldly organica, sensual bass, big boom, and astral wubs.
Classically trained in both eastern and western song lineages, Kai is devoted to sharing sacred music that facilitates states which invite communion between our planet & benevolent allies from other realms. Kai curates sets that invite dancers to connect with their bodies, spirits, and each other. Her intuitive approach to music creates a space where movement becomes a sacred rite, inviting trance-inducing travels.
~Special Guest: Sophia Rayne~
Sophia Rayne is a Bay Area artist devoted to creating authentic music from a genuine, heart centered space. Drawing inspiration from her life experiences and spirituality, her songs reflect a deep exploration of self discovery and transformation.
With a sound that blends alternative pop and soul, Sophia crafts melodies that resonate on a personal and universal level, inviting listeners to connect, heal, and grow alongside her.
