Reciprocity and balance take center stage in ‘Syncretic Streams’, a unique combination of Kathak and Indian Contemporary dance with motifs of Indian martial arts and Hatha yoga. This captivating showcase weaves together stories of duality, self-reflection, meaningful exchanges, and synchrony in nature. The performance begins with the interplay of Prakriti (nature) and Purusha (spirit), highlighting the harmony they bring to life. It then turns inward, exploring the struggles of a man battling the emotions and desires of his mind. It then reflects on the role of silence, listening, and speech in shaping profound connections with others. Finally, it explores symbiosis and synchrony in nature. Choreographed and performed by Keerthi Kumar and Roopa, the production is mentored by Madhu Nataraj, with music by Praveen D. Rao and Dheerendra Doss, and multimedia and light design by Keerthi Kumar.
