Southgate Community Players is holding auditions for our final show of the 2024/2025 season, Sylvia. Auditions will take place on Sunday, February 9th at 1pm and Monday, February 10th at 7pm at the Corner Playhouse, 12671 Dix-Toledo in Southgate. Registration will begin 30 minutes prior to start time. Please plan on staying the entire time. You need not attend both sessions, but are welcome to do so. The audition will consist of readings from the script.

Written by A.R. Gurney, Sylvia is a smart, silly, sophisticated, and occasionally salty comedy about the relationships between man and wife, dog owner and dog, nature, and growing older. Greg, tired of his job in finance, is looking for meaning in life. Sylvia, a dog, is exuberant and beautiful, astray in Central Park, looking for a new home. When they meet, it is love at first sight. But his wife Kate is less than thrilled by the dog who jumps, slobbers, sits on her couch, and takes Greg’s attention.
Rehearsals will take place Sunday afternoons (1p-4p) and Tuesday & Thursday evenings (6:30p-9:30p). Production dates are 4/25, 4/26, 5/2, 5/3 at 7:30p and 4/27 at 2:30p.
