Saturday 20th June: Exploring the lens of 'saint, sufferer, sinner'

Many of us want to care well for people who are struggling, but aren't sure what to say beyond 'I'll pray for you.' Our next gathering will focus on how to show practical care by listening well. Using the biblical lens of 'saint, sufferer, sinner', we'll explore how to ask questions that help someone gain insight into their own heart — and in doing so, help us pray more meaningfully for them. We'll practise these skills together in small groups.

New venue

Following feedback from our first event (at Ashfield Presbyterian Church) we've moved our venue to Burwood Presbyterian Church which will help us hear one another better in our small groups.

If you're driving there is no parking at the venue. We recommend parking either within Burwood Plaza or Burwood Westfield—each a short walk from the church hall.

Request for a donation

If this is your first time attending you are welcome to attend free of charge. However, if you've been before and are in a position to give a donation of $15 that would be very helpful. There will be opportunity to dontate in person at the event. (This contributes towards the cost of afternoon tea, our use of the venue and an amount towards the speaker who has spent time in preparation.)

We're aiming to faciliate an opportunity where you can connect with others in Sydney who are interested in biblical counselling and biblical care. We're wanting to give you an opportunity to help you find out more and help you grow in offering Christ-centred care to those around you.

This in-person gathering offers a warm, collaborative space to learn, build meaningful connections, and grow alongside others who share a heart for applying Scripture to the real struggles of life. Whether you’re involved in pastoral care, helping others informally, working in a helping profession, or simply curious to learn more — you’re warmly invited.

The afternoon will include a talk, interactive group discussion, afternoon tea, and opportunity for relaxed conversation.
