For one frost-filled evening in November, step out of reality and into fantasy.
The mountains rise to your left like snow covered sentinels as you glide up the paved way to a stone mansion awash with a golden light reflecting off the glistening snow. As you walk up the gravel path, you’re surrounded by flashes of color as a stream of fae, dragon riders, and shifters approach the medieval wooden door in their glistening dresses, crowns, suits, and wings. Warmth washes over you as you step in, the sound of laughter and the scent of decadent food waft through the air as an attendant accepts your coat.
Once you’ve obtained a glass of wine, you wander through the luxurious mansion, noting the tables laden with dark and moody floral decor and golden notecards offering both light and weighty questions regarding many of your favorite books. Some have already begun to debate with whom the Shadowsinger shall find love, the possible meaning behind the name “Onyx Storm,” and whether the Queen of Terrasen might return to the Maasiverse. You ponder your own responses for later discussions as you pass bedecked tables covered in beautiful wares for sale ranging from handmade obsidian leather satchels, to towering scarlet crystals, to golden bookmarks.
Finally, you wander into the ballroom, where fairy lights glisten above you in the dark expanse, and music saturates your bones. Swept away into the melody and the beat you feel in your soul, you dance the night away as someone you’d only read about in books, surrounded by characters you’d once only seen in your mind.
And for one night, you forget that magic and dragons and faeries only exist in the pages you left behind.
