We are pleased to invite you to a very special event organised by the Swiss Club Manchester. We are looking forward to a visit from Mrs Joy Buchanan, who will give us a talk on Swiss German dialects, based on her experience of living in Switzerland. The attached document will tell you more about her life and work.

Whether you are Swiss, generally interested in Swiss dialects and their relationship to High German, or whether you are the English family of a Swiss German speaker and would like to find out more about your loved one’s native tongue, this talk is for you! It will be given in English, with Swiss German examples – you might even learn a useful phrase or two for your next visit to Switzerland!
The talk will be on 30th April at the Brookdale Club, Bridge Lane, Bramhall, Stockport, SK7 3AB, at 7.00pm, and will take about an hour. It will of course also be an opportunity to meet up with members of the Swiss Club and other Swiss in the Manchester area and have a chat afterwards. Tea, Coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
We make a small charge of £7 per person to cover room and equipment hire.
