Get ready to groove this spring with an exciting 8-week Swing dance series! This fun and energetic class will introduce you to both East Coast Swing and West Coast Swing, helping you understand the unique style, rhythm, and feel of each dance.
You’ll learn how East Coast Swing brings high-energy, upbeat movement that’s perfect for big band, oldies, rock, and pop. Be sure to bring your water bottle—this lively style will have you smiling and breaking a sweat!
Then, explore the smooth, stylish flow of West Coast Swing, a versatile partner dance that’s rapidly growing in popularity. Danced to modern pop, rock, blues, and contemporary music, WCS emphasizes connection, musicality, and creativity. We’ll start with connection and partnering exercises, move into foundational patterns, and build up to fun, dynamic figures.
Throughout the series, we’ll highlight the key differences between the two styles—from footwork and timing to posture, movement, and musical interpretation—so you can feel confident dancing either one on the social floor.
No partner necessary! This is a welcoming, beginner-friendly class designed to help you learn, connect, and have fun in a supportive environment. Each class will also include guided practice time so you can refine what you’ve learned.
What to Bring:
• Soft-soled dance shoes
• Water bottle
• A readiness to have fun!
Dates: Tuesdays, March 10 – April 28
Time: 7:30–8:30 PM
Cost: $160 per person or $300 per couple (8-week session), or drop-in $25/class
